I went to the Merrimack Valley Coaching Clinic this morning. Here are a few drills presented by Matt Regan of Bishop Guertin HS of Nashua, NH.
I call this "hexagon" because of the shape. You have a pair of shooters, rebounders, and passers. Shooters start and midcourt, sprint to catch, and make a 1 dribble move to shoot. They then backpedal to half court, sprint to the 3 and then catch and shoot. They then turn and sprint to half court and back to make the original one dribble move. You can define the shooting area and the length of time for each shooter. The shooter gets conditioning and 'fatigue' conditions.
3 x 3 x 3. 6 balls, 3 lines. Shooters sprint to the catch and shoot. Passers then sprint to the other end into the catch and shoot. Passers at the other end repeat the sprint and so on. It looked like a great sprint into shots drill. Keep count of shots made.
BLOOD Drill.
This drill can be run 2 on1 with a chaser leading to 2-on-2 full court...or it can be run 1-on-1 with the chaser who participates on offense 2 on1 coming back with the defender.
