The Feynman Technique: Explain It and Hit 'em Where They Ain't

How can a Nobel Prize winner and a tiny right fielder help US?

When teaching (concept, skill, drill), imprint the details upon our students. Employ the Feynman technique, named after Nobel Prize winner, physicist Richard Feynman.

N-E-C-S. Get the students to teach.

1. Name the domain
2. Have them explain simply with examples.
3. Discuss areas that could be confusing.
4. Simplify ...subtract the jargon.

Consider "reading" screens.

Name: Reading off-ball screens
Explain: Cut away from defender
Challenge: Wait, set up the cut, 'explode'
Simplify: WWK* "Hit 'em where they ain't"
