Basketball: What Are Your TOP 3?

Coaches want teams to excel at everything; too much keeps us from excelling at anything.

"Be good at what we do a lot."

Coach Randy Brown advises attention to our TOP 3 priorities. Get players on the same page, understand basketball symmetry. Reverse your offensive DOs with defensive DON'Ts. For example, invert ALLOW NO EASY BASKETS with FIND EASY BASKETS.

Measure. Remember Darren Hardy's advice from The Compound Effect, "winners are trackers."

Use Feynman Technique
Name it, definite, research, simplify.

Get quality shots. "Fall in love with easy."  Know your quality shots and your teammates'. Nobody said it better than Pete Newell, “Get more and better shots than our opponent.”

Exert pressure. Solid teams apply and defeat pressure. Great conversion sets early pressure. Contain the ball.

Value the ball. "The ball is gold." Turnovers kill coaches.
