Basketball: Eastman Notes, 2012 Coaching U Live

"Good artists borrow; great artists steal." - Picasso

"Share something great." - Me

Kevin Eastman rocks. I'll share ten highlights from a 2012 Coaching seminar. Find something to make yours.
  1. Challenge the game with respect - there are always trends in the game; what is the next trend?
  2. Are you a team of give or get? Giving teams win, get teams lose.
  3. In game evaluation versus emotion - 90 % of a coach must be evaluation.
  4. The better the player the more they will demand of you as a coach.
  5. Young players - get invisible stats: charges, dives on floor, loose balls
  6. Can’t win with ‘my turn’ shots or shot turnovers
  7. When it hits the fan do you clean up or turn off the fan?
  8. Success doesn’t have business hours; it has production hours.
  9. Best teams EXECUTE - can you get to your third option?
  10. Via Jim Rohm, “Success is a few simple disciplines done every day.
