Scalisms (NBA Commentator Brian Scalabrine Translates the Game for Fans)

It's preseason for announcers, too. Let's see what Celtics' analyst Brian Scalabrine says during the Celtics-Raptors preseason game in Montreal.

Play with force. "The way that both those guys play through contact is at another level." (Tatum and Brown)

Share the ball. "Assists, assist percentage, percentage of points off threes...all one."

Be versatile. "In the bag, with all the options, then a nice pass." (Jaylen Brown)

See the game. "Brown isn't making that play three years ago...isn't seeing that."

Draw 2. No comment...Tatum drives, draws help and hits the corner for an open three.

Be athletic. "Too good, too fast, too strong...Jaylen Brown."

Be skillful. "Show, relocate, and stick it."

One more. "Everything off of good ball movement and extra passes."

Smart being Smart. "Stripping the ball from Van Vleet is not easy."

Play big. With a small lineup, "getting rebounds from the four is big."

Grunt work matters. "The game always comes down to defend and rebound."

Attack the basket. "He (Brogdon) does a great job getting downhill."

Lagniappe. Fundamentals. Don't return; never leave.
