Are we learning or judging? As a community, what's our priority? Do we want to find or solve problems?
- How do we get it right?
- What is the quality of our information?
- How can we tell? "Trust but verify."
- Is conflict inevitable?
- Can we listen better?
1. Do I have enough information on the topic?
- Is it relevant to impact winning?
- Can I access it?
- Can I understand it? Do I need another person's perspective?
2. Have I heard other views, the "other side of the trade?"
- Is it 'black and white' or a grey area?
- Is it about right or wrong or about power?
- In a controversy, is it skill, teaching, or character-related?
3. Is there a diversity issue with input from others?
- We can learn from other cultures.
- Don't presume that our view is widely held.
- Listen respectfully to others of different age, gender, background, race.
