The Cleaner

We organize the planning and preparation, instruct, sweat the details, give and get feedback, motivate, and repeat the cycle. But the players are the game.

Tim S. Grover's Relentless defined Thirteen Properties of a Cleaner.  Thinking "I can be a closer " borders on narcissism, an unattractive arrogance for almost everyone and anyone. But for the player, it's about the work.

But we can strive for qualities of cleaners.

#1. You keep pushing yourself harder when everyone else has had enough. There is always something more.
#1. You know exactly who you are. And you commit to building a better version every day.
#1. When everyone is hitting the "In Case of Emergency" button, they're all looking for you. In 'The House of God' Samuel Shem called his iconoclastic and irreverent closer, "The Fat Man."
#1. You don't have to love the work, but you're addicted to the results. If you seek a higher plane, you become addicted to the process.
#1. You don't celebrate your achievements because you always want more. My coach always used to say, "I'm pleased but I'm not satisfied."
