Scoring, not just inbounding, adds great value on special situations plays. Many teams play zone against baseline out of bounds (BOBs). Share principles and good players see the game.
This discussion presumes that the inbounder looks off defenders, makes a good decision, and executes the pass. Remember VDE (vision, decision, execution).
How can we pressure the zone?
We can overload the bottom of the zone.
We can pressure individual defenders with cuts and/or screens.
The baseline cutters force low defenders to make decisions. I teach, "BIGS AWAY will come in to play." It becomes a 4 on 3 situation. If x3 and x4 follow the cutters, then 4 and 5 have a 2-on-1. The inbounder quickly finds the open receiver.
Sending a cutter can clear out the low defender and pressure the middle with a screener as 5 cuts to receive and score.
We can bring the cutters or the screeners from different sites.
We often ran low pick-and-rolls successfully getting the 5 posted up against the middle defender of the zone.
