Three Defensive Drills

I find 'em or have them and put them out there. Use what you like. Two of these come from Championship Basketball by Lazenby et al. These also have value when we have less than a full complement for practice.

x2 tries for the interception. 3 and 4 must have a foot in contact with the elbow. When they receive the ball, they attack the basket.

x5 has her back to the basket. The inbounder throws to any player who immediately attacks the basket with x5 defending.

1, 2, and 3 are on the perimeter and x4 is responsible for guarding 4 and 5. If the ball goes to 2, x4 is responsible for guarding x4 and to 3, she guards 5. Working to get proper positioning matters. 1, 2, or 3 can pass to 4 or 5 and x4 defends the attack.
