- "Always do your best." That often means silence.
- Be positive.
- Be thankful.
- Ask what if? (The blue pill or the red pill in The Matrix)
- Deliberate in probabilities, not certainties.
- Cultivate better habits.
- Saying, "I believe in you" can change a life.
- Keep an open mind, a beginner's mind.
- Beware of biases, like fundamental attribution error, attributing choices to character not circumstances (see Lagniappe).
- Become a better storyteller. Stories stick.

- Cut urgently. Separation is advantage.
- "My turn" shots. Does the ball have your name on it?

- Impact the game. Contribute even when not scoring.

- Find the sunshine.
