More than anything else, your play represents who you are. Your play demonstrates your level of commitment, collaboration (unselfishness), confidence, curiosity, concentration, and willingness to sacrifice for the greater good. Your play defines your brand and your character.
Players do not play for me, for their community, their school, their class, or their family. Players play for each other and share mutual accountability. That demands an extreme level of effort, communication, and discipline that translates to all aspect of their lives.
When you 'cheat the drill', you disrespect the game but more importantly you disrespect your teammates. When you don't take care of business (homework, extra reading), you cheat yourself. Developing a great process is the foundation of your future.
