Game Planning

Game planning offers the potential for big rewards. Bishop Fenwick traveled to Wachusett (14-0) and met physical play and strategy to hold the Crusaders to their lowest total of the season.

"Take away what your opponent does well." Cecilia Kay (32) came in averaging almost 22 points a game and Wachusett fronted, denied, and doubled the McDonald's All-America nominee the whole game to limit her touches and her points.

Turnovers have been a nemesis all season and Sunday was no exception. Good help side defense clogging the middle helped.

Create advantage. Wachusett is experienced and skilled. Opportunistic cutting, on-time and on-target passing and a crafty finish earn two.

Wachusett averages over 60 points a game. Their shot selection works for them and their coach who has over 300 career wins.

"Do what we do well." Recently I shared how they often 'face-guarded' on the press. Here they get a live-ball turnover and a layup.

Continual pressure forced turnovers. One has to admire a team who says "this is how we play" and has the athletes and execution to make it work.
