"Basketball is a game of mistakes." Reducing and minimizing them determines success and failure.
Players miss shots, throw bad passes, and commit bad fouls. What mistakes make you cringe?
In no particular order:
Perimeter traveling. Catch a pass thirty feet from the basket. Why travel? Are you a threat from thirty feet?
Missed assignment. The signature mental error cannot be tolerated.
No protection. A player gets beaten and nobody 'bothers' to help and/or rotate. It happened twice during the scrimmage segment of practice today. Bad coaching...
Failed block out on free throws.
Passing into traffic. "Don't play in the traffic."
Fouling jump shots. If she's such a great shooter, why do you want to put her on the line?
Falling in love with the dribble. The more dribbles the less quality basketball. "Basketball is a game of cutting and passing."
Not looking ahead. Reward players sprinting in space. No "Night at the Opera" basketball - me, me, me.
Where's your beef?
